- The main objectives are: To improve our population’s health by conducting health system and policy research that examines the goals and objectives of health systems and how accessibility, quality, effectiveness, efficiency, sustainability and resilience of health systems contribute to the goals;
- To inform health policy and practice, including policies for better health which require better understanding of health systems and the social determinants of health; and
- To seek to understand and explain the policy process recognising the primacy of socio-political and economic forces in the political economy.
