We are deeply saddened by the passing of The Honourable Tung Chee Hwa, the first Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and extend our heartfelt condolences to his family.

Mr Tung was a visionary leader whose heart was always with Hong Kong and the Nation. He played a pivotal role in the formative years of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and in the implementation of the principle of “One Country, Two Systems”. His dedication to public service and his contributions to Hong Kong’s progress and development will be remembered with deep affection and great respect.

Mr Tung’s generous support through the Tung Foundation has also made a significant and enduring contribution to the Centre’s development and mission. We are profoundly grateful for his vision, generosity, and steadfast commitment to advancing education, research, and the well-being of the community.

Mr Tung’s passing is a great loss to Hong Kong and the Nation. We pay tribute to his extraordinary achievements and enduring legacy. His vision, dedication, and spirit of service will continue to inspire future generations and will be remembered with deep respect, gratitude, and admiration.
