[CLOSED] Knowledge Event and Policy Course – ANHSS (4-7 December 2023, Hong Kong)

We are pleased to announce that (a) A Knowledge Event – Health System and Community Resilience: Lessons from the COVID-19 Pandemic (4 December 2023), and (b) A Policy Course on Health System Transformation: Private Sector Engagement for Primary Care Led Integrated-Seamless Health Care (5-7 December 2023) is to be held by the Asia Pacific Network for Health Systems Strengthening (ANHSS). The collaborating local institution is The Centre for Health Systems and Policy Research of the Jockey Club School of Public Health and Primary Care, Faculty of Medicine, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, one of the founding members of ANHSS.

 

The 1-day Knowledge Event (4 December 2023) will comprise:

1. Presentations by key policy decision makers and academics working in the pandemic responses from countries and jurisdictions in the Asia-Pacific Region to discuss lessons from the COVID-19 pandemic in health systems transformation, and strategies for institutionalizing the knowledge gained for health system and community resilience;

The Knowledge Event brings together a diverse group of esteemed speakers from across the Asia-Pacific Region to share their expertise and insights on a wide range of topics. National and sub-national level health policy makers will speak in the Keynote and Plenary Session.

2. Invitation for poster presentation to present research work relating to health system and community resilience in the pandemic.

The abstract submission guidelines and selection criteria are outlined here. The winner of best poster award could get HK$1,000!

Deadline of submission of abstract is extended to 17 November 2023!

 

The 3-day Policy Course (5-7 December 2023) will provide an overview of the challenges encountered in the transformation to a primary care led seamless integrated healthcare system in both tax and social insurance finance healthcare system, and discuss framework and mechanisms for primary care led integrated health care systems with course participants’ input in the context of their health systems. The health system governance (policy) instruments of financing, strategic purchasing, contracting, regulation and information will be elaborated. The course will also cover critical factors for implementation, approaches in monitoring and evaluation of policy interventions with case studies on countries experience. An optional visit to an integrated primary care and hospital faculty is planned on 8th December 2023 (Friday) subject to availability.

The Opening Session of Policy Course with keynote speakers and panel discussion in the morning of 5 December 2023 on “Challenges for health system private sector engagement for primary care led integrated seamless healthcare” will be opened to public for free.
